Routine Daily Activities
Provides direction to packaging technicians during day-to-day bottling production activities.
Optimize efficiencies and reduce labor costs.
Assign tasks to employees as necessary.
Delivers daily production target while maintaining highest levels of quality.
Implements company health, safety, and environmental program to ensure safety of employees and compliance with policy and law.
Confirm that all dry goods are staged and accurately accounted for prior to running the workorder.
Complete reconciliation of all dry goods and bulk wine at the end of the workorder and/or shift.
Establish two-way communication with Production Supervisors to ensure objectives are met.
Develop full time and temporary employees to perform in a self-directed manner.
Train personnel on safety awareness, use of personal protection equipment, departmental policies, operation of relevant equipment, good manufacturing practices, proper sanitation, correct documentation of production documents, and Company standard operating procedures.
Analyze changeovers and implement corrective actions to improve productivity.
Coordinate and communicate with other departments for the completion of the production schedule.
Meet with staff regularly to discuss and disseminate information related to work instructions, safety, and sanitation.
Complete documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policies.
Initiate good housekeeping practices by implementing cleaning tasks throughout the work area, and organizing workspace via 5S.
Proactively address potential safety issues or problems.
Responsible for safe operation of the bottling line equipment according to established standard operating procedures and safety policies.
Works closely with Quality Control lab personnel to ensure that product bottled is consistent with and meets the specification set by marketing and winemaking.
Works closely with maintenance department to ensure correct and timely repairs of equipment; supports and accommodates preventative maintenance program; and utilize work order and line change proposal process to improve line capability.
Additional Activities Necessary when Covering for the Production Supervisor
Assign jobs, positions, projects, and tasks to employees as necessary.
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects.
Meet with staff to discuss changes in company policies and procedures.
Foster and facilitate a strong team work environment by encouraging open communication between employees and managers, and promoting team work among employees.
Directs the proper break down and sanitizing of equipment, labeller, packer and filler as required.
Other duties as required to sustain production department. |
